There's a bunch of other companies that should be in here, but I can't think of them off the top of my head.Disclaimer: Past performance is no guarantee of future performance. HTC should be in this ETF, even though I wouldn't buy their stock. This same tech could find it's way into a standalone wireless headset from Valve. Then there's the technology inside the SteamDeck that's powered by AMD. Also, while AMD's GPU's are not as good as Nvidia, they sell plenty of those as well. Their CPU's just give way more bang for the buck compared to Intel. AMD is selling tons of Ryzen CPU's to hardcore PC gaming enthusiasts. They belong on this list because high-end VR will continue to require PC's with tremendous horsepower. How are you not going to have Matterport in this ETF?ĪMD. (it's way cheaper to do this in the beginning, because it's hard as hell to miniaturize every little component for slim AR glasses like Meta is falsely advertising in their fantastical trailers) Their high-end VR headset is expected to be announced in spring of 2022, and it's going to feature a ton of AR capabilities, but inside a VR headset. They have both VR and AR headsets in development. No Apple? WTF? Apple will have it's say in this field. They will eventually want to have a photoreal version of any location on planet Earth. Also, Google is basically spatially mapping the entirety of planet Earth. Google is the worlds leader in this department. It's called Lightfields and Volumetric video. Think the future of TV, movies, documentaries, concerts. They have the best VR/AR video technology. Google is heavily involved in VR/AR but it's behind the scenes. Also, should have more pure play AR/VR stocks like KOPN and VUZX Not having Qualcomm on the list pretty much invalidates it. The 5g modem chips, chips to process all the camera and lidar data that these headsets could be using. Qualcomm is all in on VR and AR, and they will be providing a lot of the parts to Meta and any other major VR/AR players in the standalone market. Many of them are using the Snapdragon XR2 like the Oculus Quest 2, and some of them use the original Snapdragon XR1. I don't even own Qualcomm stock at the moment, but I can tell you that 90 percent of all the standalone AR and VR headsets currently in existence are using Snapdragon processors.
